Carters Beach & Boat Competition

Carters are proud to be the naming rights sponsor of the annual Carters Beach and Boat Competition. The 2010 event was our fourth year of involvement with the competition as it has grown from strength to strength. The Beach and Boat is a fishing tournament that takes place on the beaches and waters around Ruakaka in Northland at the end of February each year (26 & 27 February, 2010). The tournament is fished on Friday and Saturday with six species eligible for entry; Snapper, Kingfish, Trevally, Kahawai and John Dory. Contestants can fish from the beach, boat or kayak. Hooked On Promotions, who organise the competition, have worked hard with the local community to turn out a great event. Families are welcome and there is a Junior fishing category for contestants 14 years and younger. The total prize pool is massive each year, so if you’d like to try your hand for a share, watch out for more information on the 2011 competition in October.
