South Island Ronald McDonald House
When Carters in Canterbury heard that Ronald McDonald House was trying to fund the construction and operation of a new South Island House, they were quick to find out how they could help to reach the funding target. Consequently, the Christchurch branch not only joined the Ronald McDonald House Business Club, they also sponsored a ‘Carters Miles of Smiles’ gala and cabaret fundraising dinner. Most recently, the Carters Canterbury team attended the Ronald McDonald House Annual Gala dinner with the Horncastle Homes Management team. The Carters Canterbury Team also cleaned up at the Annual Ronald McDonald House Ten Pin Bowling challenge in Christchurch, beating last year’s champions Jennian Homes Christchurch easily. Thanks to the support of Carters, and many other individuals and businesses in the Christchurch community, the new South Island Ronald McDonald House has now opened its doors to provide accommodation for the parents and siblings of children being treated for serious illnesses at Christchurch Hospital. |
