Carters recognise that the licensed building practitioner (LBP) scheme is an important step for the industry. It provides a benchmark for all builders to show that they are competent and have the skills, experience and knowledge to do good work that will stand the test of time. While licensing is voluntary, from 1 March 2012 building practitioners have to be licensed to carry out certain restricted building work.
Carters have run licensing clinics nationwide over the last year or so to help builders with their licensing application forms in the lead up to Restricted Building Work commencing. If you are interested in applying for a license class or have any questions around which class to apply for or how the process works, please contact your local Carters branch or visit www.dbh.govt.nz/lbp
